My Future Force sets from eBay just arrived, but minus instructions. All are currently assembled, but I'd like to have instructions for future reference. I need them for the following:
U240 - Assault
J227 - Quadwalker
U122 - Striker
Any format will do (Link, File, Hardcopy)
Thanks,
Mike

Did he mention that in the description? If not, that's a pretty crappy thing to do!

Already called him on it (well emailed him on it) - haven't heard back yet. but seller has 100% positive feedback, so hoping we can work something out. No mention made in description. You wouldn't think you'd have to ask if a building toy is glued together under normal circumstances. So far, most people I've dealt with have been very up front with whether or not parts are glued. I'll give him a chance to make it right.
At least he left all the moving parts free.

Argh. Horrific thing. I once bought a whole Draigar Castle that arrived rendered indestructable with super glue.
What use a construction toy that cannot be rebuilt?

Seller very dismissive of issue, may have to go through Paypal's Resolution Center.
Claims ignorance and questions veracity of claim and states that because the arms (which were not glued) came off easily, the cement must not be very strong. Told him it's superglue - he'll probably suggest I soak them all in a bath of acetone.

Did you leave him feedback yet?
I've been on ebay since Feb 99, and I've only left negative feedback twice. Both times were for items that were not as described.

Holding off on feedback until after his response. Apparently, bad feedback is now really bad for ebay sellers, so using the threat of it may get a better outcome than using it preemptively. Once you leave negative feedback, sellers seem to either take an oh, crap, let's make this right attitude or just say screw you. If I have to go through the resolution center, I will definitely leave negative feedback afterwards, they tend to side with buyers who have gone through all the steps attempting to resolve the situation. Only had to do it once before, and that was for an item that never arrived where the seller refused to answer emails.
I've had a lot of experience building a reasonable, rational case against someone who doesn't give a damn through all my VA experiences, so this should go well. I started with indignant regarding the misrepresentation, then went to offended by his disbelief to conciliatory regarding his ignorance of the glue (thus creating a contrast), and then making it clear once more that I was giving him another chance to make it right as a courtesy prior to taking further action.
No matter how this plays out, I will probably end up paying something for these, since return postage would cost one of us 2/3 the price of the sets. If he is willing to negotiate, I'm thinking a refund of that amount would be appropriate. They are fuctional, but damn, I was looking forward to building some crazy Mechs! Just a note to others who might want to crew Future Force Mecha with Spartans - so far they work in all canopies except the quad-walker. All are cramped, but only the Quad is too narrow.

Seller agreed to reimburse a significant portion of the price. Would have given a full refund, but the return shipping would have been a waste. Feeling much better now

So, was happily considering what to do with my paypal credit and thinking it would just cover the expected cost of my Battlestorm Castle, when my wife came in with "urgent" business and took over the computer. After paying a couple of bills, she apparently started christmas shopping - during which she not only caused me to miss out on my Castle, but also used my Paypal credit
It's been that sort of week...
