"Weren't those the first Lucas permitted books?

I'm sure they count as totally cannonocal."

Lucas' judgement is no longer valid for the determination of cannonicity. this is the man who brought you Jar-Jar and whiney Anakin (Little Orphan Annie) Skywalker. He also authorized the death of Chewie by dropping a frakking moon on him - a moon!

"You can sanction Mike's rations if I'm wrong."

Fortunataly, as an advanced chi gung practitioner, I can survive quite well without rations - on the other hand, take away my knife, putty and paint set, and I'll wither within a fortnight.

<< But the 2D clone wars were fantastic! Wonderful style. >>

They were inspired and very creative, most definitely, but the main issue I had with the whole hand-drawn Clone Wars series was mainly in it's length - Especially when watching the edited DVD version of season 1. It was all quite jarring to watch. Too much happening, too soon with no time to blink.

<< The short episode length could occasionally be frustrating. But as compacttales they were great. >>

You nailed it Mark. *if* they would've kept episodes self-contained on the DVD release than I probably would've enjoyed it a lot more.

<< Was it the visual style you didn't care for or the story telling? If neither then what didn't float you boat? >>

I usually love hand-drawn animation and moan about anything CGI-based, but due to Luca's over-use of CGI in the live-action movies I feel that a computer animated visual style seems to suite the Star Wars universe much better nowadays. From light sabers to clone troopers - it all just makes it easier to watch...

But with all that said if I could get hold of a DVD set of season 2 with the hand-drawn 15! minute Clone Wars episodes, then I would probably check it out...

I'm afraid I've never seen 'Samurai Jack'.

Andy.
