<<EMBEDDED TRANSMISSION//SEC.III/REQUIEM/.../CAULDRONCLASH/REVIEW.DOC>>
Upon planet REQUIEM, the Promethian site known as "CAULDRON" has been located. See below details of team COBALTs findings:
*NOTE: Click photos for enlarged image

Armaments:
  • M392 Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR)
  • Asymmetric Recoilless Carbine-920 (railgun)

NOTES:Detailing in the sculpt of both weapons is superb and highlights the incredible sculpting MEGA is now capable of. Not only are both weapons very stylishly sculpted (I bet they could give MacFarlane weapons a run for their money) but are perfectly fit for any newer style fig to use a two-handed grip (that's right) without compromising sight angle or limb dislocation

    Terrestrial life forms:

    • UNSC Spartan - armor type SOLDIER
    • UNSC Marine - H4 standard issue fatigues
    • Promethian Knight
    • Promethian Watcher
    • Promethian Crawler

NOTES: Where to begin, where to begin...the Spartan Soldier is top-notch; simply top notch! I for one am not a huge fan of the armor itself, but one can't help but admire the artistry that went into this figure. Personally, I think it looks better than the in-game model. As important as the sculpt is the extent to which MEGA went with paint apps:

"There's underarm painting? I had to try this on!"

It doesn't end there either. From what I can count the marine looks to have 7 colors!!! Smiley (So many that I can't keep straight what the injection color was Smiley). As if that weren't enough, the Promethian crawlers and watchers are excellently done.

    Six points of articulation...wha??

I expected the watcher to be a solid mold with clip-on wings, but to my surprise this little guy has 6 points of articulation! The crawler is also a 5-pt articulated piece with a nice yellow-orange detail added. The fact you get 2...PRICELESS.
However, as IF these four figures weren't enough....

    ^Gassy knight Smiley

    THE PROMETHIAN KNIGHT
I don't know how to begin talking about how awesome this figure is. There's at least 12 points of articulation, great coloring & the watcher fits into the back (although a bit awkward at the way you place him into the knight) and a beauty of a knight's blade sculpt (I think it's trans-orange injection with blue paint app). Standing at approximately 3.5" he's slightly taller than a hunter.

    Oh...and there's this - a removeable scattershot!!

"I come in piece(s) and offer you my weapon"
    "Not bad Smiley"

    ...and thus Promethians hated mankind...(cont

    How, where, and when? Smiley

It looks like Target has it availible online an in stores, so I guess that's where you got it from. If this was some kind of Sparky giveaway, I might have exploded with jealousy! Smiley Anyways, awesome find Sabrefox, I suppose I will just save all my questions until after the review!

Sorry for the delay guys, family duties override review obligations.
    A few more teaser pics:

Quick question or a few Smiley ... in your first teaser picture the Knight has his energy blade on his right arm... in your most recent picture (Meet the Family) the energy blade is on the Knight's left side. Obviously i'm guessing they are interchangeable but is able to be changed with ease and without causing stress to the parts? Also it may just be me but the Knight looks a little bulky towards the top, of course he has to accommodate the Watcher in his back, but it seems overly large to me. Does it hinder movement of the arms in any way? I don't want to only spot the possible negativity of this set, because just from a few pictures I'm completely and totally sold.
Anyhow like I've stated before I can't wait to see the full review and hear your opinion on this amazing set.

I can answer the first question for you, bro!

Look at the first pic again, and tell me if you don't see the face of the Knight, but the Watcher's instead. HEhehe. He's facing the other way is all. Also, I think the height and bulkiness is just about right. Matter of opinion though.

Well now I feel really dumb !Smiley! I knew something seemed off but couldn't tell what it was, until now Smiley ... but thanks a lot for clearing that up for me. I guess the size isn't bad after taking a look and realizing that it wasn't even the front of the Knight. :'D

Did you happen to find this at Target? I went yesterday and they were reorganizing the blocks aisle and moved it down a few aisles. The new aisle had a sign that said Cauldron Clash, but nothing new was on the shelves. They didn't have anything other signs and no Recon Drop Pods which is why I went in the first place Smiley Can't wait for the review!

Thanks for the fig and weapon pics. Very illustrative.

I'm hoping that the Soldier armor and a painted DMR will show up in a few less-expensive sets soon. Deinonycon needs a GEN2 armor upgrade, as well as his actual weapon of choice instead of the stand-in BR Smiley
