The practical joke is of great importance as a time-honored way of dealing with a stressful and dangerous work environment. I would have to imagine that the war-torn world of Halo is exceedingly stressful and dangerous…and therefore, inevitably, even more appropriate for the occasional prank!
This contest will be for scenes depicting the best practical jokes (and/or tricks), being played either by Halo Mega Bloks figures, on Halo Mega Bloks figures, or both. Keep in mind that sometimes a trick or joke is more funny to the trickster than the victim, so a combat related ‘trick’ that fools the enemy somehow would also be appropriate (such as the use of a decoy or other tactical deception)
The Joke's On You will follow the same general guidelines as the past Halo Battlefield Competition, and although this contest is not sponsored by Mega Brands, over the past couple of years I have collected quite a few 'still in the box' sets to award as prizes. I was going to sell them on eBay, but then I thought how much more fun this would be!
A full set of rules will be posted within the next couple of days, with a complete timeline and instructions for when and where to send your submissions. But to get everyone started...
There will be prizes awarded in the following categories:
“Hi...Joker” – a single Halo figure playing a prank on another single Halo figure. Could be Red team vs Blue team, UNSC vs Covenant, or just one marine playing a joke on his buddy…The situation could be just before, during, or after the trap has been sprung, whichever you think is funniest given the particular prank being played!
“Bravo Team Ownz!” – a small group (2-4 or so) of Halo figures playing a prank on another small (2-4 or so) group. This could involve just the figures themselves, some scenic elements, or even a vehicle or two.
“Is that Warthog…made of plastic?” – a prank that takes advantage of the mechanics of the Bloks themselves for the prank – such as swapping out or removing a part from a model with disastrous (and/or hilarious) results, or even a complete or partial rebuild that makes the model hilariously useless to its crew of minifigures. The idea is that it is something that doesn’t really fit the ‘real world’ of Halo, but is only made possible because the Halo Mega Bloks vehicles/scenery used are made out of Mega Bloks. Could be single figure or a group, but should be Bloks on Bloks in any case! For outside the Blok world see the next category…
“Bloks 4 teh WIN!” – a prank played by Mega Blok figures on someone or something that is not Mega Bloks. They could be pranking Lego figures, Barbie dolls, G.I. Joe, their human owners, whatever. Whether or not they use actual Mega Blok bloks to pull off the prank is up to you, but wouldn’t it be funnier that way?

It is supposed to be Halo themed, so at least one 'party' in the prank should be Halo Mega Bloks. And I would say that if only one side is Halo, they should be the pranksters, not the victims. For all categories other than 'Bloks Uber Alles,' it would probably be most appropriate for it to be Halo on Halo in some form...I would probably put any prank involving a side that is not Halo Mega Bloks (Say, Halo vs Dragons Universe) into the Bloks Uber Alles Bloks 4 Teh WIN category.
