#1-12 votes, #2-10 votes, #3-1 vote, #4-5 votes, #5-1 vote, and #6-2 votes. Tough competition with great entries!
So in first place with submission #1 is LOKA! Great job Mike, you had my vote (and it was a hard choice)
In second place with submission #2 is Yrkane!! Awesome job Chris
Third place goes to Quantum with submission #4!!
Paul gets a very large Honorable mention for his evil light up custom!!! Should have guessed you would make something that viking cool!
You guys all did well, I had a hard time with my vote as I'm sure most of you did!

I really loved 1 and 6 , was a very hard choice. Now if those two guys could get together and actually do this figure together combining both skills. I think it would be best figure of the year

I s'pose I should have waited for Mike to say something first, so forgive me on this .
Thanks goes to everyone involved in this challenge, first and foremost Schuler and the Bloks Forum.
The voter turnout was better than I thought would be presented; thanks again to all that took the time to peruse our entries and vote.
The judges; Gramps, Sabrefox and Rodsboys. I did not envy you in your task!
I was very happy to see our local talent pool step up and create not only great customs but works of art. All entrants kicked cloaca and I'm proud to have been involved. Fantastic work guys, impressive work all around.
Thanks to Valo for keeping this all together, I often think of things like this like herding cats . Super job my friend.
And then there's LOKA.... thanks for instigating this and giving us all the reason to do our best.
Thanks again to all who were involved this challenge and to those who helped me take 2nd place!

Yes a very tough competition indeed. Hm, the melted plastic and light up fig gave PK away
I see now by lining up my fig with the others that my molding skills need to be sharpened, looks blobby when blown up. This definitely pushed me to sharpen my skills.
Thanks for the great competition guys!
PS: Chris how'd you get those legs so long?

Paul ...being customized by the Maker... Romans 12:2
Well done Everyone.
Congrats Loka.
My guess for #2 was Yrkane. (Do I win a prize for guessing correctly?)
Super fun stuff.
Next time I won't wait until the final hours to actually start
I am going to clean mine up a bit (Actually a lot)
It was a great learning tool for me to be able to get the tiny pieces needed to make a lighted figure self contained in such a small scale.
This will help me with some plans I have had in the works for awhile but could not figure how to get the electronics to fit correctly.
I liked something about each figure. It is cool how everyones minds work.
Looking forward to the next contest.
(I guess the lighted stuff will give me away next time... )
I will have to now hypnotize all of you..."You didn't see anything" as my little Penguin friends would say.
Thanks for everyone who took the time to vote and thanks to the judges and of course Valo for overseeing it. (Loka for the original concept)
It is on for the next contest. A very nice group of skill sets here.
Next time Gramps and Symon need to partake too.
I have also seen a lot of new guys with some creative talent that need to get involved next time too.
I will repost the new and improved custom when it is done. (knowing me it will be 6+ months )

First off - Thanks to everyone who participated!
Second - congrats to Yrkane and Quantum. Both first time customizers!
I have to say, I honestly thought Yrkane was going to win. My original plan was for a tall version of Blackheart, but then I did a test fit and fell in love with the combination of bent legs with the forward projecting face. Artistic license won in the end and I had a lot less work to do. Seeing how many went with with a pure black color scheme, I kind of wish I'd left mine that way, but I decided to go with something closer to the source photo - Though for a brief moment I considered black with electric blue highlights...
Chris, I think if you'd added points to you hair you'd have crushed me. You probably would have even gotten my vote.
As it is, you and Quantum are both getting a share of the winnings - as soon as they are released. Well done both of you!
I'd love to see the combination of my head, Yrkane's body and Quantum's feet. That would be one badass Blackheart. Add light-up eyes and holy crap

Thanks Mike, both for the kudos and share of the prize winnings. You are definitely a class act.
The base color is straight gunmetal gray, with a couple of black washes. If I'd have finished earlier in the day the pics would've shown it much clearer in the natural light. LOKA I think the blue highlights would've looked good.
Engineerio I got the height combining stock Marvel legs with Halo ones; the uppers are Marvel and Brute, the lower are Marvel and Elite (with DU Swarmer feet claws). I added "muscle" to the upper legs to make the transition smoother and more natural looking. I also wanted to add larger calves but ran out of time.

Congratulations to y'all! I found it really hard to choose who to vote for. I chose #6 - the light-up one - because it was my favourite and very original... it doesn't surprise me that it was PK who made it, haha! There's a switch and everything on that thing, that's awesome. But they were all extremely good customs and you should all be happy.
I liked #2 because the leg to body ratio looked good.
I'm with you on that Ovaltiney - My favs were 2 & 4, although closely followed by Loka's magnificent entry (see I still love your work Loka!)
Very good contest, looking forward to the next one...
These were my fav's too with the exception that I requested PK's honorable mention b/c those light up eyes were incredible!!! That being said, I also give up props to #5 for the comic strip-I love seeing toy/comics I just wish there was a way to combine all the best stuff from each one...
Anyway thanks a million to everyone involved in this contest from contender to organizers-it was an honor and privilege to be a judge and hope I did you all due and fair justice
P.S. I had half the contestants figured out at first sight by some giveaway evidence:
PK- LED, need I say more?
Yrkane-custom Reach marine
LOKA-who else would reference a 30yr old not named Gramps? (which was awesome BTW)
Wow, thanks everyone who made this contest get off the ground, the customizers who inspired me to want to be a part of this crazy world, and all the people who took the time to check out our figures and vote. I was nervous getting involved in the contest given that when I entered, I didn't even know where to get green stuff, let alone how to use it. I learned a LOT doing this custom, and I'm looking forward to learning more on my next project (already in the works!).
LOKA, sharing the prize money is above and beyond dude: just placing is reward enough for me, getting a prize is totally gravy!
I debated doing the bent leg version, but straight legs won out, mostly cause it seemed like less work. I used a Mega Bloks Foot Clan Ninja head for mine, and obviously Green Stuff dreads. Not sure about anyone else, but I spent the couple of hours of curing time meticulously separating dreads with tweezers so they wouldn't stick together and hanging the head from various angles to get the curve right: there's gotta be an easier way! The feet are the front feet of the Griffin from the LOKA Battle Castle trimmed and GS'd on. Then just went over it all in black.
I agree that seeing a hybrid of all the best parts of the figs would be bad-cloaca!
Thanks again everyone who made this possible, can't wait for the next one!
