just discovered this site from one of fellow-member TKF's postings
http://en.bricker.ru/
this is huge and a great resource!

can anybody (TKF included) give us more info on how long the site has been up? has it been promoted here (bloks forum) already?

nice work!

Definitely been a while. IIRC, TKF was already working on the site when he found this one. Many of his posts have been in the set listings area adding sets, clarifying set numbers and requesting pics or info for various HTF sets.

A terrific site indeed! TKF has graciously allowed me to enhance the Set Listings here by adding links to the corresponding pages over at Bricker itself.

Which reminds me... He sent me some set listings for this site that I still need to add!

Site has became public (discovered buy a number of russian lug users at jule 2009, although the creation and filling up started at march Smiley
So some time ago there was 3 year anniversary (how fast time passes). Of course english version is younger Smiley (I think something around Jule 2010)

Smiley I always liked lego-like plastic bricks, also i'm a bit of collector (not so good for me), so i wanted some where to help with my returning to hobby Smiley When selecting what to buy reviews can change you mind, there were three main russian lego resources at the moment, each with own reviews and not so friendly when communicating with each other. So i started to maintain reviews db. Making index, so that it could be easy for me to use it later. I showed it to couple of friends, they liked it, and so it has became public. Smiley

After some time i'm being a Halo fan has came across MB Halo boxes in the local toy store. That time i could stop not buying it, because have heared of very bad other brand qualities from lego purists (althought a had some new enlighten sets, they weren't that worse, just worse than lego, but not bad themselves, anyway they are much cheaper than mb and lego). After some investigation i have found out that MB has great minifigures and the quality shoudn't be bad, at least for Halo and DU sets. So i think non-lego sets have started to appear at August, 2010.
I'm not lego purist, i like lego, i like bricks, and if someone will do bricks the same quality as lego, i will buy mostly them, for now i buy lego sets for the bricks source, and cute minifigs, mb sets for cool well articulated minifigs. Other brands are not so wide-spread here (no Kre-o, Knex, or Oxford), except the chinese one of course, but mostly they are bad quality ones, so i don't buy them Smiley MB parts imo mostly not so good as lego, they are similar to enlighten, good quality but they don't shine ^_^.

With the great help of this forum the non-lego set database is filling Smiley For now there are more than 1.5k sets, from them 1k is Mega Bloks ones.
With Gonzilla's help i have successfully maintained [url=http://mb.bricker.info/osets.html?brand=HASBRO&family=Built+to+Rule]BTR Transformers section.

Because there are not so big community as lego one (may be it is same or bigger, but they are hiding non-lego sets under the bed, so that no one finds out Smiley ) So this forums set lists helped very much. It was a terrific work for the The Hegemon to compile all this info.

Unfortunately there is always more work to do, than spare hands i have. Smiley
So always catching up. Smiley
if anyone want to help with maintaining set list, there are tools to create new sets available in beta test Smiley

Also for a while want to make part/minifigs db for mb sets, but finding images of spare minifigs is not so easy. Smiley My collection is two small to be used as a source of images. May be letter it will be.

p.s. also i always didn't understand why everybody trying to pretend that there is nobody outwhere, If there is a BoardGameGeek why not to put a link to it. If there is a BlokCity,Halo MB Wiki, Spartan Bloks, why all of them doesn't crosslink. They all have a great source of info, shouldn't they help users to find more interesting info somewhere else? Users could google or open more than one website. So why should they have trouble with doing it. ^_^
IMO information should be free, and if user searching for info i should help him to find it, not pretending that there is no other internet Smiley
