Actually, I believe it IS illegal, I forget the exact term but my wife's company went through something similar a few years back when a dirt-bag competitor tried registering all the domain names very similar to hers and plastering them all over his advertising. Because he mentions trademarked names (with correct spelling and all) Mega could likely legally force him to relinquish the domain name to them. However, they would have to come after it, it isn't illegal to the point where the feds or anybody would come a' knocking. (I think it might actually be a civil offense)
Gone are the days when you could blackmail companies with their own trademarked names in .com addresses just by registering them first, but unfortunately the onus in on the company to go and get it back (at no small expense) which is why these things still happen.

Like I said, it isn't illegal under certain circumstances, i.e. if you have some rational and legally justified right to the URL. Those who attempt to usurp a URL merely to milk a corporation or an individual can and indeed are sued and soundly thrashed legally. However they are not criminally penalized.

In the case of my wife's company, her competitor did have a rational justification for the name, after all they were in the exact same business and the name was descriptive of the service provided.
However, the civil (you're right, not criminal) liability comes in because the name is too easily mistaken for an already established, trademarked name.
The civil 'penalty' though is not monetary, they just force you to relinquish the url.

I would say boycott him but with his prices I already avoid him. Why pay twice as much for sets PLUS shipping and handling? With Amazon it's free shipping on orders of $25 or more, and there isn't much from MB that I'd pay extra for. Half my stuff I bought full price, the rest sales or clearence. Why would I buy full cost plus 50%, especially if it's not going to MB but some resellers pocket?
I wonder if he thinks MB will buy it, or thinks someone else will think it's valuable and would buy it.
