Not according to Sparky. From what I hear there is a number on the individual packages (the date code) and a number on the trays/boxes called a batch reference number. Obviously a retailers takes no interest in such a thing but apparently it helps Mega narrow down when and where the box was put together. Too bad I didn't retain the tray for the 24 I bought recently...

The reason I even thought to ask is because I was reviewing one of my old set listing spreadsheets, and I was reminded that the Dragon Eggs each had an individual set #, but their retail pack had a different number. I wondered if something similar was at play here.

Weird but true. I had a shelf elf open a box of 95206 as I didn't know the number and it was labled, curiously, along the lines 'dragons battle set'. Said box had 5 95207 fighters in.
True story.

I can tell you that a couple of the Targets in my area have not bothered with the gravity feed box, and just put out a set of clear plastic racks to set the blind packs in...so if there is a separate number for it, some Targets feel free to ignore 'stocking' it.

Yeah, I've noticed that at a few, in fact, that's how I first came across S4 as they were more visible this way. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't just go this route (or pegged, I quite liked them pegged) in the future as many of the cardboard "gravity-feed" boxes I've seen lately are in pretty bad shape after so many frantic savages clawing through them for a Cortana! A great space saving idea, but they all just end-up mixed together in the end in stores.
*BTW, what do the individual "trays" for these asst.s look like (plain, printed, long/narrow, flat/wide)?
