I don't know about anyone else, but I've been having serious trouble finding new sets lately. Metallic series 4, Elite Weapons Customizer, ODST Armor Customizer, and more have been very limited in their availability near me (or completely unavailable in Metallic 4's case). I've seen tons of ninja turtles everywhere, but new Halo sets seem to only be at Toys R Us and some Walmarts.

This seems to be a symptom of the larger issue of Mega Brand's recent issues with communication now that Mattel is calling the shots. It seems like they care more about putting out what sells, that what their fans want. I know they're a business, but they haven't really felt like one until now.

Halo sets really put them on the map in terms of sales. I mean remember when Target had a section of the LEGO isle dedicated almost solely to them. It's very likely Mega got their other licenses due to Halo, and seeing it sidelined so much is just sad.

In years past, Mega's holiday strategy was to release new material in about the 3rd week of January. You know, the time of year when retail businesses begin their annual 11-month period of circling the drain. This bugged the hell out of me for years, because it happened again and again.

Not sure what Mattel is up to now, but it definitely doesn't seem like they're too serious about supporting the Mega Bloks brand (as evidenced by their decision to rename the brand, for instance).

Indeed, MB past strategy at Xmas was rather difficult to understand. The current sales strategy seems even more incomprehensible. The sporadic and limited release of just a few announced sets holds true for the COD line also.
I was ready and anxious to purchase more new sets...but they never made it to release!
I have about given up on brick and mortar stores and shop Amazon mostly.
The emphasis is on the various TMNT lines, but how many of those can they sell....there are so many different ones?

Indeed it's been a similar situation in Australian stores with lots of TMNT sets available and very limited and selective availability of Halo/other theme sets (if at all).

I wonder how long MB Halo sets will last at this rate, perhaps at least until Halo 6?

Halo availability has been pretty bleak around here as well this year. Target used to be a great place to pick up Halo, but they'll have six to eight different items at most, the same goes for Wal-Mart. And when most of those items are just Heroes packs, blind packs, or figure sets, it leaves the actual building sets out in the cold. TRU eventually stocked-up on all the new stuff, but it trickled out over months and well into the Fall before everything was available.

The single beacon of hope has been Amazon. Except for the TRU exclusive Spirit, I bought all of my Halo building sets (excluding figure sets) from Amazon this year. They've consistently had most things first and at some sort of discount, so, sorry brick-and-mortar.
