Dual-Mode Warthog almost seems like Sparky is trolling me.

"Hey Deino, I know you like Warthogs so here's one you can build two different ways. Looks like you're going to have to buy two of them to display them both ways, huh?" :'D

And now with the NYTF pics hitting, I'm glad to see we're indeed getting one of those little tumbler bikes.

Still absolutely adore that giant mobile cannon. There was a much smaller yet very similar vehicle to that in one of the True Heroes sets and that was pretty sweet all on it's own.

Love the look of the new Cyclops and the tumbler-looking bike.
Surprised to see no new mystery packs revealed.

Still early, the tables shown look more like a preview event, rather than the show floor.

Is it just me or do the new Cyclops mechs have an Exo-Squad look to them? I can't wait to get one of those in hand to see what potential they have.

Okay so, for what we've seen so far:

For a lot of these, there seems to be a disconnect between the press photos and what's actually on display, particularly the ONI warthog design and the figures in the Halo Wars sets, although in the warthog's case it might just be that the conversion between the two designs has more to it than swapping the turret.

Anyway, the Halo Wars 2-exclusive UNSC vehicles are easy passes for me. I do want to get a closer look at that Mark IV spartan though. I'm glad to see that we're getting back around to the Halo Wars figure designs, but I'm a bit wary of the marines since the one from Series Delta was very disappointing (using the old head molds doesn't always jive with the new armor system, and some of those armor pieces had very poorly-placed injection sites).

ONI warthog is definitely a buy, even though I'm not a fan of that color scheme for the figures. It looks like one is the female Hermes armor.

That brute chopper though, holy smokes! Just look at it! The parts that used to be specially molded are now brick-built, which means they might have worked in the rotation joint. Either way, though, I'll definitely be picking that one up. The Halo 3-styled tan scheme and all those angled parts just capture the idea of the vehicle much better than the clean, rounded, silver versions ever did. My one complaint it the bubble shield. If you're going to use that mold again, why another blue one? We're still missing the original yellow!

The brute stuff in general is very cool (and well-timed for me, since I'm planning a story arc with some brute villains). I like the figure pack with those spiky variations on the barricade and lookout tower, and will most likely be picking that one up even though the fireteam-style sets have lost serious points with me ever since they started cutting out the terrain pieces.

Now, the customizer sets, which have become my favorite set type after the aforementioned thing with the fireteams. The elite set is actually the thing that first got me excited. I'm really not a fan of the zealot armor, but I will be needing some more elite heads and arms in gray, and some of those painted weapons are seriously cool. The highlight, though, is the new-style energy sword in purple. Now I can finally complete my new-style Rvan 'Rafkam and I'll be well on my way to updating at least some of my characters.

The ODST pack is bound to make a few people happy. The one thing I'm puzzled about is the recon head, since it doesn't look like either figure is using the female mold. It looks like at least two of the chest-pieces have the port for the knife.

Well, that just makes me think that an actual Veronica Dare may be on-deck for wave 3 of Halo Heroes.

Recon helmet is a good addition to the ODST customizer...from what I recall of the halo wiki only the recon and AA helmets were ever used by soldiers other than Spartans...so it makes sense. The added comment by Deino just reinforces the idea to include it IMO.

The rest of the offerings are pretty great for halo as well IMO. Top of my list will be the ODST customizer pack because I've been wanting those urban-gray armor bits for the longest, and having the other permutations I'm fond of are just icing on the cake - easy 5-6 purchases there. I'll probably go wild on the brute packs too...well there's no "probably" about that.
The covert hog too is a must-have and hope there will be some covert-blue ODSTs to accompany it down the road, but if not I can retrofit a gray undercarriage so it'll coordinate with the customized ODST crew. The other vehicle is also cool and may make it into my armoury for a rainy day. The only real downside I have about this year's offerings is the lack of structure AND landscape fodder...but I guess HALO isn't about defending humanity's interests any longer anyhow.

As far as the delta marines are concerned - I like them and plan on hitting fireteam Yankee and Sgt. Forge hard, their color palettes are prefect for throwing the halo scale back to 21st century modern soldiers (for those of us with adaptation difficulties to CoD sizes)

^Don't get me wrong, I like the design and coloration, my main issue was that the old-model heads don't seem to want to fully attach around the ball joint due to the shoulder height added by the removable chest armor, so neck articulation is hindered and moving the head around feels like it's stressing the figure (much like the Series Charlie arctic pilot). I'd really love some new-style Halo Wars marines, but as long as they use the old heads without modification I still consider the older ones superior (plus I got some pretty bad helmet paint jobs from the new ones).

Ditto about the structures/terrain.

Hmm...I hadn't noticed the issue with mine - which date codes did you get? Might've also missed it because I almost instantly disassembled them to kitbash CoD figures down to halo height.

I don't know about codes but I bought mine around late December/early January, probably around the first run. I guess they could have fixed the problem later on, but it seems unlikely considering they would have needed new tooling.

I also found having the white marks from the injection molding right in the middle of the outer panel on the thigh armor to be a bit distracting. I hadn't noticed that being too much of a problem on other armor pieces.

Besides what was shown in the pre-Toyfair press release, that had to be the weakest showing of Halo to date. Less product was on display than what was initially revealed...

With that aside I'm quite excited to see the Brutes getting their long awaited update which is most likely being propelled by Halo Wars 2! The new Battle Rifle & Brute Shot look great as well.

To me, it actually seems like quite a lot given that Mega has many more lines to concentrate on this year. The thing I'm disappointed in the most is the fact that I really can't seem to tell what we're actually getting beyond the most basic set contents - the coverage was spotty and there were inconsistencies between what was on display and what was shown in photos.

The one thing I was kind of expecting but didn't see anywhere were some more elite molds. Not including named characters, there are only four available sangheili armor types. On one hand, I'm glad we'll get the chance to see those four in more colors, but on the other it really seems like they're getting shafted compared to the human figures (and now maybe brutes, but then again I can't tell how many different brute molds there actually are).
