Some behind the scenes for the folks here who may be more familiar with the mythology.

This season especially, I tried to work in as many subtle references as I could. For instance, the CGI ship model I used in the intro and the flashbacks in Episode 12:

Is based on one of the prototype designs for the Warbyrd (Ultimate Action Dragon Destroyer):

Did you notice the two identical Privates fighting with Arminus against Ironclaw in Episode 12? Okay, you probably didn't, but the figure with the Alliance-tipped "pistol" weapon (Solar Grenade Launcher, technically) in the ROTP Alliance figure pack is called Private Tasius in the official set description but is labeled as Private Gallus on the packaging, so I made them two separate characters.

There's a similar problem with Arminus and Calenus, the figures that come with the Azure Striker and Bloodstone Raider, respectively. According to the set descriptions, they're both Privates, but the packaging lists them both as Majors. I tend to believe the packaging due to the paint accents and shoulder insignia. We don't know what the emblem for Major is in either faction, but the stars in Arminus's symbol kind of seal the deal. That's why I made it a joke in Episode 13 (and possibly a running gag in the future) that no one can get Calenus's rank right.

I figure it would be overdoing it to make the same joke with Arminus, though, especially since I changed the character a bit with the dual rocket launchers. Part of the reason I did that was I wanted to keep the "serrated rifle" weapon Predavor-exclusive like Caprenius's plasma launcher thing, at least initially (That's also the reason Sergeant Carbo hasn't appeared yet, but I'm planning on introducing him with a different weapon and having him scavenge a predavor rifle).

The bit about Captain Cato at the beginning of Episode 13 is actually from his Bio. I'm still kicking myself for not copying it from the site like I did for the three troopers, but the gist of it was that he was the only survivor when his militia unit was ambushed by the Predavors, and joined the Alliance as a result. The "scratch" on the helmet is just a paint error on my particular figure, but I figured I'd throw it in anyway and connect it to that incident.

Also, Episode 13's title is a reference to one of the older Dragons lines. I have a couple more of those references planned for later this season.

Episode 14: Metal Ages

And now the reference notes, so y'all can see all the research and planning I'm putting into this stuff. (Spoilers ahead)

So, right off the bat, another sub-line reference title.

I knew at some point I was going to have to include generic characters, since I couldn't really have Barbatus and Rubico be the only footsoldiers in the whole Predavor army. I've pretty much settled on the "Private" figure with the "serrated" gun and standard-length red "fuel rod" for generic Predavor Troopers, since no official characters have this set-up. (Calenus has the gun, but different paint apps, and while Barbatus and Rubico have the same guns for now they'll eventually be getting their official weapons)

There are a couple of things I've changed from the official mythos, most obviously giving Sejanus and the human Predavors a more involved backstory, but I've also ignored the Dragon Rider concept for the most part, since I don't have the required sets. However, I did want to make the line about "a legendary duo that hasn’t been seen in over 2000 years – The Dragon and Dragon Rider!" possible within the timeline, so I included that little inconsistency in the Predavor records to open up more room for that to happen while at the same time hinting at the true nature of the singularity.

Oh, and the speeder that almost materializes is an Onyx Breaker, but I don't have the set, so I just set it up so it's destroyed before the Predavors get a chance to use it.

Episode 15: Wrath of the Predavors

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgzDimY6fj8

We're getting pretty close to the end of the story I have planned. I originally set out an outline for another 10-episode season, but unfortunately it doesn't look like that's going to happen, primarily because some of the figures and dragons are starting to break down on me. I haven't had anything crucial break yet that I couldn't replace, but I don't think they'll stand up to too much more filming.

It will still be a while before I get around to it, but the rest of the series should be summed up in a two-part finale (which I might just throw together as a "movie"). Basically, you can consider this the "season finale" but the show's not over yet. Of the three other episode concepts, one was just a bunch of separate events that wouldn't have stood well as a standalone episode anyway, and the other two were literally just a filler arc, so you won't be missing out on anything crucial.

...

so, moving on to the episode, it's the first full battle between the extended Alliance and the revived Predavor army, so of course I had to put in a little more effort. IMO it kind of knocks the season's other four episodes out of the park, making up for how little action there has actually been this season.

So afterward, pretty much everyone has their official weapons! Yay!
-Varro Sejanus escapes with one of the double-barred rifles.
-Sergeant Carbo ends up with Sejanus's old rifle
-Barbatus and Rubico presumably scavenge the rifle and rocket launcher (possibly from Tasius and Triferus, who were last seen being run over by a speeder, but I want to keep my options open to possibly have them appear again)
And the next time you see them they'll have switched out the "fuel rods" for faction-appropriate ones.

Captain Vedrix gets introduced. There's a minor plot around him and his Lizard Busters that I've moved to the finale.

CaptainPrivateCorporalTrooperMajor Calenus and the other Predavors get some development. For context, Caprenius and Lunaris' single-adjective "character bios" are "scheming" and "deranged," respectively. Sejanus's is "vengeful," which pretty much explains the entire episode, doesn't it? It's actually pretty fun trying to build whole characters around these brief descriptions.

And of course the big character reveal at the end, which would actually mean something if people knew who any of these characters are. (fun fact: I don't actually have the figure, all of this character's appearances have been part swaps)

Incredible work - you can really tell the huge amount of plotting that has gone into this.
