General W2daERN thread

Post by W2daERN on Jan 30th, 2012 at 09:55 am
Well, it looks like I finally have a place to put everything, but I don't want to clutter the new section, so here's how this is going to work:

Go Here for all of my halo stopmotions (Multiplayer, Halo vs. Dragons Saga, etc.) prior to 2012.

Dragons Universe: The Series has it's own thread Here. That thread will continue to serve as the main discussion thread for the series, and new episodes will be posted there.

(Dave, feel free to move those threads to this section if you wish)

EDIT: for my future videos, here's what i've decided to do:

  • Dragons Universe the Series will continue to have its own thread for videos and discussion.
  • Short videos like Multiplayer matches or stand-alone fight scenes will be posted to this thread and be discussed here.
  • Trailers to upcoming projects will be posted here and discussed here.
  • Any new videos that I think warrant their own discussion thread will have one. (for example, Halo Wars: Ghost in the Machine and its upcoming sequels)

Here's a full list of my blok-related stopmotions (not counting shorts at the end of instructional videos)

Multiplayer: (separate storylines but featuring the same cast of characters)
1. 1 Flag CTF
2. Juggernaut
3. Elimination
4. Grifball
5. Tremors
6. Capture the Flag
7. Invasion
8. Race
9. ODST Firefight
10. Infection

Halo vs. Dragons Saga: (3 seemingly unrelated videos tied together by the final installment)
1. Covenant Outpost
2. Godzilla vs. Halo
3. Target Acquired
4. Halo vs. Dragons

Other Campaign: (Halo vids that don't fit into any other category)
1. Project Greatsword
2. The Convoy

In the Shadows of Giants: (storyline-centered series focusing on a squad of marines)
1. Halo Wars: Ghost in the Machine

Machinima Tributes: (remakes of or conclusions to machinima series)
1. Red vs. Blue Revelation chapter 20 (there are 2 versions)
2. Saving Private Cyan
3. Red vs. Blue Revelation chapter 19
4. Deserted

Dragons Universe: The Series (My DU series, has its own thread)
Episode 1: The Rookie
Episode 2: Cato and Mauser
Episode 3: Under Cover of Darkness
Episode 4: Something's Gotta Give
Episode 5: Swarmed

My most recent video is a Generator Rex stopmotion I made with my custom figure and sets:

What does it take to get a discussion going?

Anyways, here's the trailer for Halo: Extermination.

Nicely made videos! How long does it take to make each one? I don't really have the patience to do this kinda thing, I'm in awe of how many you've done. Keep up the good work, and I'll wait in anticipation of your new works.

I've been doing this for a long time, so short videos like multiplayer matches usually take 1-2 days. The projects I'm working on now take significantly longer, since I have to film on various sets, find time to record dialogue, and do a whole lot more special effects due to the length of the film.

For example, Halo: Extermination has required 3 completely different sets so far, is going to be about 10 minutes do how many different scenes I've shot and the dialogue therein, and requires effects like this:

I still don't think I can do it, But... I'll never know till I try. Haha. Maybe during this forced vacation. Keep making these, I for one can't wait to see more of your videos. I think they're great, and will definitely keep watching Smiley
